Chat rooms#

Purism leverages Matrix, an open protocol for real-time communication. There is also the #purism IRC channel on Freenode, though this room has been inactive lately.

Note

Purism is spread across many timezones and therefore may not provide expedient responses. You will often have to be patient and monitor the chat room, as responses may come some hours or days later. Contact the Support department (support@puri.sm) to request technical assistance or follow-up on a purchase.

Registration#

Logging in to Matrix is easy with Librem One.

If you do not choose to use Librem One and do not already have a Matrix account, please visit Matrix’s website to choose a Matrix client where you can register. Once you have a registered Matrix account, you should log into the default matrix.org server where you can search for our community Matrix rooms on our talk.puri.sm Matrix server.

For example, search for #community-librem-5:talk.puri.sm to locate the community/librem-5 room.

Once you have access to the Matrix channels, please say “Hi” and introduce yourself. Let us know who you are and what areas of development interest you the most so that we can guide you to the right resources for your development.

Many channels are public and therefore do not require invitations for membership. Email admins@puri.sm including your Matrix ID if you have any issues locating our Matrix rooms. They will ensure you get invited to the rooms.
