Setup¶
The Librem AweSIM SIM card will work in almost any device. Most Android and iOS devices will configure automatically. If they do not, use the Librem 5 settings below.
- Configure the carrier settings (see below)
- Add or select the APN:
Settings → Mobile → Access Point Names
- Set the “Network Mode” to “4G Only”:
Settings → Mobile → Network Mode
- Configure Chats application with APN/MMSC/Proxy parameters:
Chats → ☰ → Preferences → Protocol Settings → SMS and MMS Settings
Contact the Wireless Support department to activate your AweSIM voice+data plan
Warning
Be very careful with the SIM Lock option. Only continue if you are confident with the feature, as it takes a couple days to request an unlock code (PUK). The default PIN is 1111.

Dial your own number (or hold ‘1’ on Apple or Android devices).
Follow the steps starting at step 2 as described in the AT&T voicemail setup procedure.
