Mobile-Optimized Applications¶
Migrating from Android or iOS to PureOS¶
How easy is it to migrate from Android or iOS to PureOS? The answer depends on your expectations and usage habits.
If you primarily use your Android or iOS device for phone calls, email, or light web browsing, switching to PureOS will be relatively easy. However, if you rely heavily upon Android or iOS applications that are not yet natively supported within PureOS, you may need to use:
Progressive Web Applications (PWAs): HTML5 applications (Social Media, News, Banking) that have most/full functionality directly from within a web browser
Native clients that interoperate with mainstream/proprietary applications (e.g. Riot.im vs. Signal)
Native Android applications within WayDroid
