File sharingΒΆ

To set up simple file sharing in GNOME, using the nautilus file browser:

  1. Open a file browser

  2. From your Home folder, navigate to the Public folder

  3. Click on the Sharing Settings button:

  4. Turn on the share:

  5. Enter a recognizable computer name and activate File Sharing:

  6. If you open Other Locations on another computer running the GNOME desktop, you should see the shared public folder:

  7. You should now be able to access it:
