The purpose of the card is to store GPG cryptographic keys on it to sign/encrypt emails, textual files, etc. These keys cannot be extracted from the card, meaning that they cannot be stolen. .. _openpgp_card_installation: Installation ------------ .. _openpgp_card_installation_l5: Librem 5 ~~~~~~~~ #. Ensure the device is fully powered off. #. :ref:`Remove the rear cover ` of the device to access the battery compartment. #. Insert the OpenPGP card. * The location is near the top of the empty battery compartment. * Electrical contact pins must face downward toward the device. * The orientation of the OpenPGP is etched into the internal frame for reference. * Once properly oriented, gently push the OpenPGP into the socket. #. Reinsert the battery #.
